Emberfall Saga

Emberfall Saga is the RPG I keep recommending to friends who claim mobile can't do the genre. You build a party of four, explore a hand-drawn map dotted with ruins and villages, and fight in a turn-based system that leans on timing and elemental weaknesses rather than raw grinding.

The writing surprised me. Side characters have actual arcs, and choices you make early ripple into later dialogue. It's not Baldur's Gate on a phone, but it clearly loves the same things.

The one downside is that late-game encounters expect you to know the systems cold, so newcomers might hit a wall. Stick with it, though, and it's a proper adventure that fits in your pocket.
